ATEX is a European directive; it came into force in 2003 to ensure that companies that work with potentially explosive materials have adequate safety measures to prevent fire and explosion. Amazingly, industry analysts suggest that less than half of all companies that are required to abide by the ATEX directive even know what it is.

Why are Pressure Sensor MEMS important?
Over the last two decades, the pressure sensor MEMS (MicroElectroMechanical Systems) industry has made continuous improvements. This continuous improvement is borne from the demanding requirements of tens of thousands of hydrostatic pressure based, level installations. In these applications, linearity and accuracy have to perform throughout the measuring range and a sensors’ performance is constantly monitored against content and level readings. These pressure controls also have a range of approvals and designs for chemical, marine, food and pharmaceuticals available.
